Addenda Capital’s approach to sustainable investment focuses on three key aspects :

ESG integration

This refers to the incorporation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes. As ESG issues affect companies and sectors over time, they may also affect investment performance. We endeavor to identify the ESG issues that could have a material impact on investment performance.

Stewardship

Our sustainable investment activities do not end with our buy/sell/hold investment decisions. Voting at investor meetings is one of the most effective tools we have to promote good corporate governance practices. For each meeting, we evaluate ESG policies, practices and performance and use our best efforts to exercise our clients’ right to vote at all shareholder meetings.

Promoting sustainable financial markets

As we believe sustainable investment practices will contribute to the integrity of financial markets and long-term sustainability of the economy, we have committed to playing an active role in promoting such practices. We generally carry out these activities through involvement with collaborative investor initiatives like the Carbon Disclosure Project and the United Nations’ Principles For Responsible Investment.
